This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As a senior technical manager overseeing design and engineering, civil works projects. Planning, organizing, conducting, and integrating technical requirements, ensuring compliance. Manages multiple large projects concurrently across various stages of development.
- Assignments include planning studies, design studies, plans and specifications, and/or construction for large civil works projects.
- Conducts conferences with customer and tenant representatives for criteria development and technical review.
- Determines the necessary surveys and subsurface investigations upon receipt of the design authorization.
- Selects the design criteria to be used.
- Establishes customer needs for design and construction schedules, and ensures designs remain within programmed funds.
- Coordinates the work of both architect-engineer firms and/or District design forces to resolve problems and maintain progress.
- Plans and reviews of the work of engineers and scientists assigned to assist on projects.
- Manages the overall quality and completion of technical products.
