This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a Civil Engineer (Geotechnical), GS-0810-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD), Omaha District, Engineering Division in the Geotechnical Engineering & Sciences Branch.
- As a Civil Engineer (Geotechnical) in the Omaha District, Geotechnical Engineering and Sciences Branch, you will:
- Serve as a senior geotechnical engineering specialist performing a wide variety of geotechnical and material designs and or studies in support of the Civil, Military and Hazardous Toxic and Radiological Waste (HTRW) programs within the district.
- Perform and direct design studies and contract documents for a variety of Military, Civil Works, and HTRW projects, to include airfield and heavy pavements.
- Serve as a lead or project engineer, coordinating, directing, and managing multi-disciplined in-house teams and/or consultants during the planning, design, report, contract documents, and construction phases of a project.
- Prepare A-E scopes of work, investigation plans, geotechnical analysis, reports, design, contract plans, and specifications for all aspects of geoenvironmental work.
- Provide support to Emergency Managements Public Law 84-99 Flood Fight Advance Measures and Rehabilitation Program.
